Mamoru Hosoda

After graduating from Kanazawa College of Art, he joined Toei Animation. He worked as an animator before becoming a director, making his debut as a film director in 1999 with Digimon Adventure: The Movie.
He went on to gain wide attention both within Japan and abroad with works such as The Girl Who Leapt Through Time and Summer Wars. In 2011, he founded his own animation studio, Studio Chizu. Major works include Wolf Children, The Boy and the Beast, and Mirai. Widely recognized as one of the leading animation film directors in Japan today.
